Colorado Springs is located 60 miles south of Denver. Most honest locals will say they head north to Denver for a great night on the town. But, Colorado Springs does offer a unique blend of local attractions. Starting with nightlife, the choices for dining are abundant. All of the chain restaurants like Olive Garden and Red Lobster exist in the metropolitan area of Colorado Springs. Try the Peppertree Restaurant for a romantic dinner for two where you will not only be impressed with the food and the service, but the atmosphere is exceptional. Great steaks, seafood and BBQ can be found at Steaksmith Restaurant located at 3802 Maizeland Rd. After dinner, belly up to the bar for a few drinks with friends or family. The Underground Pub caters to a younger college crowd but all ages can be found listening to a wide array of music. Cowboy’s is a great place to get out and listen to some Honky-tonk on one of the biggest dance floors in Colorado Springs. There are plenty of local theaters to catch a play, ample movie theaters and if gambling is on deck, there are several casinos not far from Colorado Springs.
Daytime attractions include Pioneers Museum, Rock Ledge Ranch, Rio Grand Scenic Railroad, Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and the Air Force Academy.
